Inch series
2016
A painter will use a canvas’s surface to construct a narrative. I manipulate the surface itself to construct my stories. “Inch” became a series from an inner impulse to transform unbleached canvas through subtle combinations and variations of surface, color, texture and rhythm to evoke deep emotions.
The works in “Inch” continue in my collaboration with light and gravity, shaped by my emotions, precision planning and the utterly joyful unpredictability of the medium. They move between feelings of exuberance and reserve—a reflection of who I am.
